Context before hype
Every piece starts with the work itself, its intent, and the experience it creates.
Nilaanjan is a personal editorial space for movies, series, games, restaurants, food, guides and the occasional rabbit hole.
I started it because I wanted a place where an opinion could stay an opinion — personal, considered and useful — without having to sound like a press release.
The reviews are based on things I have actually watched, played, visited or experienced. The rating matters, but the reasoning matters more. I try to tell you what stood out, where something falls short, and most importantly, who it might be worth spending time or money on.
The journal is where I step outside the review format — streaming trends, recommendations, explainers and whatever else I find worth thinking about.
Personal opinions. Useful context. No manufactured filler.
The editorial point of view
Nilaanjan is built around a simple idea: useful criticism should still feel human. The goal is not to manufacture consensus, chase a score, or repeat a press release. It is to explain what works, what does not, who it is for, and whether it is worth your time.
Every piece starts with the work itself, its intent, and the experience it creates.
A verdict matters more when the reader can understand the thinking behind it.
Reviews stay spoiler-conscious and practical, with the details that help a reader decide.
