Editorial Policy

How Nilaanjan approaches reviews, entertainment coverage, factual guides and the separation between editorial judgment and commercial interests.

What Nilaanjan is trying to do

Nilaanjan is an independent publication focused primarily on movies, series and the wider experience of discovering things worth watching. The aim is to provide useful, readable and honest editorial coverage rather than publish content simply to fill search results.

Reviews are personal editorial work

A review represents an actual editorial experience. Personal opinions, ratings and verdicts are not assigned to a title merely from trailers, press material, listings or automated research.

Facts and opinions are different

Cast, runtime, release information, platforms and other factual details are treated separately from editorial judgment. Where an article is a factual guide rather than a personal review, that distinction is made clear to readers.

No fabricated ratings or experiences

Nilaanjan does not invent viewing experiences, quotations, ratings, reactions or personal anecdotes. If there is not enough genuine editorial basis for a review, the article remains unpublished or is presented as a factual guide instead.

Independence

Commercial relationships, affiliate links, advertising and sponsorships must not determine the editorial conclusion of a review.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected when identified. When a correction materially changes the understanding of an article, the publication may add an explanatory correction note.

Our standard

The goal is simple: publish fewer things when necessary, but make the things we publish useful, transparent and worth a reader's time.
