Cookie & Tracking Policy

What technologies Nilaanjan currently uses to remember preferences and measure activity.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Current approach

Nilaanjan currently does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking pixels on the publication.

Theme preference

The website may use browser local storage to remember whether you selected a display-theme preference. This is a functional preference, not an advertising or behavioural tracking mechanism.

Comments

The comments system does not rely on an advertising cookie to operate. When a reader submits a comment, the comments service records the information described in thePrivacy Policy, including a hashed IP-derived value and limited User-Agent information for abuse controls.

Future analytics or advertising

If Nilaanjan introduces analytics, advertising or other technologies that materially change how information is collected or used, this policy will be updated and any additional notice or consent mechanism required for that implementation will be considered before deployment.

Third-party links

Links to third-party websites may use technologies controlled by those services once you leave Nilaanjan. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply there.

Newsletter signup

The Nilaanjan email signup form uses a standard HTML form to submit the address you enter to Buttondown for newsletter subscription and delivery. Nilaanjan does not use a client-side advertising or analytics script as part of this signup form.

Buttondown may process information under its own privacy and cookie policies when its service is involved. SeeButtondown's Privacy Policyfor details.
