Legacy: R. Madhavan Series — Cast, Story & Where to Watch
Legacy is a Netflix India crime drama led by R. Madhavan, with Abhishek Banerjee, Nimisha Sajayan, Gautham Karthik and Gulshan Devaiah in the cast. The series centres on an ageing gangster who is confronted by the possibility that his empire, family and future are all under threat.
What is Legacy about?
Netflix’s official description follows Periyavar, an ageing gangster facing a prophecy of downfall and an inevitable siege. His struggle is not simply about protecting a criminal empire. He is also trying to protect his family and the legacy he has spent his life building. That combination gives the series two connected pressures: the threat to the organisation and the threat to the family around it.

Who directed Legacy?
The series is directed by Charukesh Sekar. Netflix categorises it as a drama and crime series.
What is the central conflict?
The word “legacy” is doing a lot of work in the premise. For a gangster, legacy can mean power, money, reputation and the survival of the organisation. But it can also mean what happens to the family when that world is threatened. The official synopsis therefore places the personal and professional consequences side by side.
Where can you watch Legacy?
Legacy is an official Netflix title and its Netflix India page provides the series listing and trailer.
Release information
Netflix’s earlier 2026 India slate described Legacy as Coming 2026 without publishing a specific release date on that page. The current official title listing confirms the programme and its category, but this page does not add a release date that has not been explicitly published by Netflix.
