Chumbak Part 2: Release Date, Episodes, Cast & Where to Watch

Netflix’s Chumbak is returning with the second half of its first season, and the timing is unusually quick: Part 2 premieres on October 1, 2026, bringing eight new episodes. The series is built around five interconnected families living in the fictional Chumbak Colony, a neighbourhood inspired by the older residential communities of Mumbai.

What is Chumbak Part 2?

Part 2 continues directly from the first eight episodes. Netflix says the first half ended with several open questions after the residents’ individual problems repeatedly became everyone else’s problem. The new batch of episodes continues that shared-neighbourhood setup. The show comes from Hats Off Production and is written and directed by Aatish Kapadia, with Jamnadas (JD) Majethia also producing.

Release date and episode count

The next eight episodes of Chumbak arrive on Netflix on: October 1, 2026 Part 2 consists of eight new episodes. Combined with the first eight episodes already listed on Netflix, the season reaches 16 episodes.

Cast

The ensemble includes:

  • Neena Gupta
  • Deven Bhojani
  • Manasi Parekh
  • Sumeet Vyas
  • Sumeet Raghavan
  • Sandeepa Dhar
  • Anant Joshi
  • Amyra Dastur
  • Arjun Bijlani
  • Helly Shah

The large cast is important to the show’s format because the central character is effectively the neighbourhood itself.

What makes Chumbak different?

The series is less interested in the idea of a perfect family and more interested in proximity. People who live next door to one another inevitably become part of each other’s routines. Someone’s marriage problem becomes a neighbour’s problem. A child’s trouble becomes a community matter. A small secret rarely stays small.

Netflix has described the show as a celebration of the older neighbourhood culture where people did not always need an invitation to walk into one another’s homes. That gives Chumbak a more communal setup than the typical family sitcom.

Where can you watch Chumbak Part 2?

Part 2 will stream on Netflix from October 1, 2026. The official Netflix title page currently lists the series as a 16-episode Hindi-language comedy with Hindi, Tamil and Telugu audio options.

What to expect from Part 2

The official announcement does not reveal every episode’s story in advance, which is useful because the series is designed around characters bouncing off one another. The safest expectation is therefore not a particular plot twist but more of the same central mechanism: one household creates a problem and the entire colony gets dragged into it.
