What is Matka King about?
The story is set in 1960s Mumbai. A former textile mill worker discovers an opportunity to build a new kind of lottery business. What begins as an attempt to create an alternative to established gambling eventually develops into a much larger operation. The rise of the business brings money and influence, but it also places the protagonist inside a dangerous criminal ecosystem.

Why the period setting matters
