Gandhari (2026): Cast, Story, Release Date & Where to Watch
Gandhari is a Hindi action-thriller starring Taapsee Pannu as a mother whose life changes after her daughter is kidnapped. Netflix released the film on September 3, 2026.
What is Gandhari about?
The story follows Bani, a mother whose daughter is abducted. A brutal attack also leaves Bani temporarily blind. Rather than waiting for the authorities to solve the case, she decides to pursue the people responsible herself. Netflix sets the story in the fictional town of Joypurra, where Bani’s search leads into a hidden criminal network and a series of increasingly dangerous discoveries.
The film combines the missing-child investigation with a revenge-driven action story.

Where can you watch Gandhari?
The film is streaming on Netflix. Netflix India lists Hindi as the original language and also provides Tamil and Telugu audio options.
What is the central conflict?
The premise begins with a very personal question: where is Bani’s daughter? But the investigation expands into a larger confrontation with the people responsible for trafficking and exploiting vulnerable children. That gives Gandhari a wider social dimension without removing the film’s core personal story.
What kind of movie is it?
Netflix categorises Gandhari as a thriller and lists crime, drama, mystery and social-issue elements among its genres. A useful way to approach the film is therefore to see it as a mother-driven pursuit story first, with the criminal network providing the larger framework. We will keep this page factual rather than presenting an unwatched film as a review.
