Playground Season 5: Mentors, Format, Premiere & Where to Watch
Playground returned for Season 5 with a major change to its competitive structure. Instead of two mentors, Season 5 introduces three teams and three mentors.
The Season 5 mentors
The teams are led by:
- Elvish Yadav — KO Krakens
- Tejasswi Prakash — Raging Centaurs
- Aarush Bhola — Power Phoenixes
The competition lasts six weeks.
What is different this season?
The biggest format change is that the house itself is part of the game. Contestants are therefore competing not only through gaming challenges but also within a living environment that influences the competition. That creates more opportunities for alliances, rivalries and strategic decisions.
When did Season 5 premiere?
Season 5 premiered on August 1, 2026.
Where can you watch Playground?
The show is presented by MX Player by Prime Video. Prime Video’s official announcement says it is available free across supported devices.
What is Playground?
The show combines competitive gaming with reality television. Players are asked to perform while living together, which means that performance, personality and social dynamics can all affect how the season plays out.
Why the format matters
A conventional gaming competition can focus almost entirely on results. A gaming reality show has another challenge. It has to make people care about the players between competitions. That is why teams, mentors and the shared house matter.
What should viewers expect?
Season 5 has a simple structural promise: three mentors, three teams, six weeks, one winner. Whether the new structure makes better television is something the finished season has to establish.
