Golbari, Kolkata Review
My Take
Golbari was one of the easiest reviews in this batch to write because the food genuinely stood out for me. The star of the meal was the mutton kosha. It had exactly the kind of rich, satisfying character I look for in a dish like this, and paired with roomali roti it became the kind of meal that makes a place memorable.
This isn’t a polished five-star dining experience, and it doesn’t need to be. Golbari’s appeal is the food and the character of the place. That’s also why I think it is important not to judge every restaurant through the same luxury-dining lens. Some places earn their reputation because the food itself is enough.
For me, Golbari did exactly that. The mutton kosha and roomali roti alone were enough to make the visit memorable, and the overall food experience earned a 4.5/5 from me.
What Stood Out
Extraordinary food, particularly the mutton kosha and roomali roti. This is a food-first recommendation.
Who Should Go
Anyone visiting Kolkata who loves Bengali food and wants a memorable, traditional, food-focused experience.
Verdict
4.5/5 — One of the strongest food experiences in this batch. Go for the mutton kosha and roomali roti.
