Khamma Ghani, Udaipur
My review of Khamma Ghani in Udaipur — good food and ambience let down by service that didn't match the hype.

Khamma Ghani, Udaipur Review
My Take
Khamma Ghani is one of those Udaipur restaurants that comes with a lot of hype, and the setting certainly helps explain why. The ambience is good and the food was good too. There is enough about the place to make you understand why visitors seek it out, particularly if you’re looking for a restaurant experience with a sense of place.
Unfortunately, the service quality brought the experience down considerably for me. I also came away feeling that the restaurant catered to foreign visitors better than Indian diners. That is my personal experience and perception from the visit, rather than something I would present as a universal fact, but it affected how I felt about the restaurant.
That matters because a good restaurant experience isn’t only about the food or the view. Service is a major part of the experience, particularly when a restaurant is positioned as a destination. So while I understand the hype, my own experience landed at 3/5.
What Stood Out
Good food and ambience, but the service experience kept Khamma Ghani firmly in the average category for me.
Who Should Go
Visitors looking for a scenic Udaipur dining experience who are willing to accept that service may be less consistent than the ambience.
Verdict
3/5 — A hyped-up place with a good setting and decent food, but the service experience stopped it from becoming a favourite.
